EVERYTHING STARTS WITH A LINE

I blame my background as a graphic designer. Everything starts with a pencil and a ruler. Shapes take their lead from there. The colours follow and flow. As time has gone on, there are more layers of pencil to build the image. The paint uses the lines as a ledge, often jumping off into the void.

I am not a realist painter. It was impossible to make myself go down that path. I try it now and again, but then the ruler comes out…and I can draw a sigh of relief.

My canvas pieces are all Acrylic & Pencil.
